Recommended Posts – November 2020

Last month I wrote an article linking to posts I liked, this month I’m doing the same, although the post is shorter this month, since I had less time for reading.

The Side Effects of an Unfinished Internet | Neil Patil
Why the internet hasn’t yet reached its full potential and why it contains a lot of stuff that is mostly a waste of time. And why, while it brought progress, progress has stalled in some areas or hasn’t been as great as it could have been.

Supernormal Stimuli: Your Brain on Porn, Junk Food, and the Internet
How social media makes you do stuff that is very difficult to avoid doing, by design.

Relax Into Structure in Your Day : zen habits
Why it can do you good to have structure in your day and put time aside for things you like. This is a brilliant idea. I have a schedule for the week, so I know on what day I bring back used bottles to the store to claim the deposit and at what time I read a book and learn something. You might argue that this sounds annoying, but I don’t have to do it. Instead it is just nice to know that I have plans what to do when I get bored and don’t know what to do the next few hours.

This month I have not read a lot of posts, so here are some Youtube videos:

17 Minutes of Barack Obama Not Being Donald Trump – YouTube
Watch it if you don’t like lying, shouting presidents and need a reminder that it does not have to be that way.
CGP Grey: Lockdown Productivity: Spaceship You – YouTube
How to stay productive and keep a decent mental health during the pandemic.
Obama surprises VP, Joe Biden with Presidential Medal of Freedom – YouTube
Just someone appreciating working with his colleague.
RailCowGirl – YouTube
Norwegian landscapes, filmed from a train. Streamed live, but recorded previously.
